Ewan House, Knox Grammar School
This refurbishment project involved the restoration of the heritage-listed Ewan House to create flexible learning environments while respecting its historic character.
The approved scope included the reconfiguration of cellular classrooms into open, transparent spaces, refurbishment of the tuck shop, and the reinstatement of a central courtyard pathway linking the east and west wings. Works comprised significant structural modifications with new roof steels, installation of a comprehensive services backbone (lighting, IT/AV, mechanical, hydraulic, and fire), and provision of full accessibility through a new lift enclosure. External balustrades, and detailed conservation works to stained glass, brickwork, timber joinery, and decorative mouldings.
The project successfully balanced heritage restoration with the integration of modern services and learning facilities.
