Multiplex’s Centre for Excellence Tour
DDA had the chance to visit the Multiplex’s Centre for Excellence, Rosebery in August 2025. Multiplex's Centre for Excellence is a pioneering centre in Sydney providing training to the industry through presentations and life-size prototypes demonstrating how detailing impacts performance.
Multiplex possess a deep understanding of construction techniques and material limitations. A range of tested details and benchmarks, on-site realities and the knowledge of achieving high quality and long-lasting buildings is invaluable for architects in detailing, that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also allowing architects to make necessary adjustments before the commencement of the project.
Benefits of Collaboration: Improved Design and Buildability
Architects and the construction team working together can identify potential problems early on, reducing costly rework during or after construction. This collaboration can lead to the adoption of new design solutions, techniques and design approaches that improve the quality and efficiency of construction.
Big thanks to Warwick Johnson and Clayton Bransdon for walking us through Multiplex’s Centre for Excellence and sharing their knowledge about safety culture, risk management and quality strategy at Multiplex.
